Haisha Shahalimi

As an artist, my focus lies in capturing movement and drama in the abstract. My creations are designed to ignite curiosity, drawing in the viewer to understand the subject. Rooted in avant-garde expression, my work unfolds through texture, dimension and contrast, allowing the medium to speak in its own language.

In the process of creation, my work becomes an extension of myself. Together, we walk, climb, pause, and navigate the unchartered — each piece a journey unto itself. My vision is to encapsulate the essence of “couture art” where every creation is singular, unique, and deeply personal.

Though my artistic journey revealed itself in my teenage years where I was introduced to clay, it was not until 2021 that I truly embraced creation on a larger scale. This marked a profound turning point, where intuition and experience converged, allowing my work to expand in depth, dimension, and expression. Since then, I have explored many mediums of art, but clay has always remained the one that inspires me the most.

My experiences as a student of the arts coupled with living in multiple cities, have granted me the advantage of being a polyglot and the privilege of working within diverse artistic communities. Notably, my involvement with the Canadian National Art Center allowed me to contribute to marketing campaigns of French, English, and Dance Theatre productions.

I have created numerous sculptures and multi-medium art pieces that have been exhibited and sold. Currently, my focus is on three-dimensional canvases, clay sculptures, and mixed medium pieces, some of which are showcased on my website, Instagram page as well as select galleries.
